Trying to Coach the Beautiful Game
This is the informal blog for coaches, players and parents (and anyone else who may be interested) who are involved with the 1998 Spartans "Beckham" Whites. On this blog I will be reporting on our games, training and any other useful info that i think people need to know (maybe plus some random football musings if i am bored) in relation to the running of the team.

- Alex Gilmore, Coach of the Beckham Whites Welcome everybody to my account (i don'’t really care how impartial or not you think I am, this is my view on the game not a bbc report) of 1998 Spartans “Beckham” Whites season, our games, our training and any other news plus my views on the wider football / sporting world. I took over the mantal for organising and coaching the "beckham" squad for the 1998 age group some time in April, shortly after completing a couple of the SFA caoching badges and watching a number of sesssions taken by the Head Youth Coach at Spartans. It has been immensely fun thus far, and thankfully we have a fantastic set up at Spartans (with our new academy now finished) and the future is looking good for the club. Please feel free to leave comments if you wish (tell me what works for your team) but if I feel you are being offensive, or posting to intentionally irritate people (called wuming – Wind Up Merchant), I will delete your posts. Please also be aware that this is a blog about a children’s football team and as such, these people may (or may not) view the site and language MUST be kept to acceptable standards.
